All throughout my ministry, summer camp has played an important role in the spiritual development of our young people. Camp provides that special time to break away from the routine, enjoy yourself, and really hear from God. It is a powerful time. But for a number of years, we were unable to take our young people to camp because the costs became prohibitive. Last year, camp director Mike Crain decided that he would like to do something really special to help get our young people to camp. He directly appealed to his own group of supporters and raised more than half of the money necessary for us to attend camp. Our kids were so blessed, and the camp was so pleased with our group, that Mr. Crain helped raise money again this year! Coupled with some extra special gifts from our own supporters, we made camp happen again this year, and boy am I glad that we did! Not only did our young people win a number of competitions - from sports to singing to preaching - but they shined their light as well. And most importantly, dozens of them made decisions for Christ! From asking Christ into their heart for the first time, to surrendering to his Lordship or committing to full time Christian service, nearly every young person made a meaningful commitment at camp. It was a powerful time! God is moving among the young people at Freedom Village, and I am so thankful that we can be a part of it. Your faithful prayers and support have come to fruition in the lives of many of these young people - teens who will never be the same because you cared enough to give them the chance to come to Freedom Village, where they met Christ.
