I just want to take a moment and tell you a little more about the young man whose testimony you just read. You see, Adam is an inspiration to me. I watched Adam come to Freedom Village and bring all of his hurt and brokenness to the altar. I saw him give his heart to Jesus and slowly, but surely, let go of the anger and bitterness he was holding. I watched him grow into a leader in the dormitory and an upstanding young man that anyone would be proud to call “son”. Then I watched his world collapse again, as he faced one of the biggest struggles of his life. And I watched him come through it with a grace that only comes from the Lord. We read about Job, and how the Lord tested him; how everything that was dear to him was taken. We read how his friends condemned him and his relatives encouraged him to give up on God. And we read about the steadfast faith that preserved him. That is the faith that I have witnessed in the life of this young man. Adam has suffered so much pain and loss, yet he has found the grace to forgive and to trust God through the valleys. And the same sustaining grace is available to all of us if we just genuinely trust him with everything - both the good and bad things that go on in our lives. Adam has inspired me. He has overcome, and like Job, will be a blessed man in the end.
