The other day, I was out with some of our kids at a basketball game, and a little eight year old girl came up and tugged on my sleeve. “Pastor Brothers, you are the best pastor in the world,” she said. “Why is that?” I asked. “Because you gave me a brand new sister. She used to be a drug addict and be really mean to me and my family. But now she is brand new, and she loves Jesus.” That is one of my favorite parts of the ministry - watching God use young people to help bring families back together. But, as I always tell the young people, with these blessings come a lot of responsibility. After all, we are all examples - either for good or for bad. There is someone watching how you live today. They will see how much Jesus matters to you. You will be an example to them in the way that you walk and talk. They will see your kindness, or your lack thereof. Your actions speak volumes. So like I told this little girl’s big sister, you have to be good. You have to stick with Jesus, and show everyone you are for real. You have to work on becoming the godly young lady God intended you to be, because your family is counting on you. Somebody is watching you. Someone may make a decision about their eternity based on the evidence of your actions. And it may just be someone that you really care about.
